1875 - 1965 "Example isn't the best way to
teach, it's the only way." Albert Schweitzer was a brilliant physician, philosopher, musician, clergyman, missionary, and writer. He was accomplished in all of these fields. Schweitzer has been called one of the greatest humanitarian of his time. He based his philosophy on what he called "reverence for life" and on a deep feeling of obligation to serve humanity through thought and action. Due to his many years of humanitarian work, Schweitzer was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 1952.
