Events
and Fundraisers PTO Membership Drive
Join the PTO and help support our fundraising efforts for just $5.00 per family. The membership drive will begin the 2nd week in September. Each class with 100% participation by September 25th will receive a pizza party! We have two general membership meetings each year, although you are always welcome and encouraged to attend any meeting. Click here for a list of our meeting. Contact Cathy Horwitz (215-269-0661) for more information. This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. Most of the funds that are raised in this event will help to offset the cost of field trips. The kids will walk laps around the Sandburg track. You may sponsor them per lap or with a flat donation. Parents are invited to come out to the track and cheer them on. Support your kids as they 'walk for education'. In past years a portion of our funds raised in this event have been donated to the Red Cross, the Philadelphia Zoo, local shelters, and the local fire department. Contact Jane Guindon (215-945-2986). offset with money raised from our PTO events and fundraisers.

Linda Norton (215-946-4221) for more information.
Courtyard
‘Habitat’ Project For the past few years, the PTO has assisted with additions to the Habitat project. We’ve donated bedding flowers and shrubbery. As teachers retire, the PTO places and dedicates items such as benches, birdbaths and statues to them for their years of service. We also assisted the first grade classes in building a reading patio. Last year, we helped to fund a memorial garden to honor two of our Schweitzer family members who had passed away. This is an ongoing project and the possibilities are endless!
Teacher Welcome Breakfast
Each year, the PTO welcomes the teachers with a continental style breakfast on the day before the first day of classes.
