Mrs.
Peggy Gale
Guidance Counselor
The Albert Schweitzer Elementary School's Guidance
Counseling Program provides a venue to assist students in the achievement of
their intellectual, and social and emotional potentials. The role of the
Counselor is to establish a comfortable environment in which students feel
secure to explore and develop strategies they can use as they grow into
adulthood.
Counseling services available include individual counseling,
small group counseling, consultation with parents and teachers, and whole class
guidance programs. Although guidance in schools is non-therapeutic, the program
addresses issues important to the development of students. Topics include
self-esteem, peer relationships, conflict resolution, and the impact of changing
families.
