Title One
Mrs. Jen Gross

Welcome to the Title I Reading Center at Schweitzer School! Title I is a federally funded project which gives help to children with reading difficulties.
Students attend daily in small groups of five or six children for thirty minutes. Our room is an exciting place where first, second and third graders learn how much fun reading can be! Something new is always going on. Students are challenged to do their best, and tasks are structured for success. This combination results in more confident, strategic, and fluent readers. Most students are able to transfer this success to their regular classroom tasks, resulting in more consistent on-level performance.

Parent participation is encouraged. Workshops are held regularly to help parents help their children at home. Parents may volunteer in the classroom to work with students at one of our four computers, or stuffing student folders with books from our extensive "little book" library for them to take home each night to read to their families. Newsletters sent home three times a year keep parents informed of Title I News.
As you can see, our Title I Center is a special place to be. Drop in any time! We'd be glad to show you what we're working on.
