I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a young child's mind
And they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher - the tools she used
Were books, music, and art.
The other, a parent, worked with a guiding hand,
And a gentle, loving heart.

Day after day, the teacher toiled with touch
That was careful, deft, and sure.
While the parent labored by her side
And polished and smoothed it o'er.

And when at last their task was done,
They were proud of what they have wrought.
For the things they had molded into a child
Could neither be sold or bought.

And each agreed they would have failed
If each had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school
And behind the teacher the home.

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2006-2007 School year! There are events and fundraising activities that we have planned throughout this school year. We offer a variety of fundraising opportunities. Please do not feel compelled to support ALL of them. That is the reason we have so many… so that you may choose the ones that work best for you. We do however, encourage you to support our efforts in any way you can.

The funds that are raised through our activities and events provide our children each year with class trips, assemblies, playground equipment, new library books, field day T-shirts and 5^th grade activities. Last year, the PTO worked for the installing of an illuminated sign similar to the one in front of Walter Miller Elementary School .

All of our events and activities require volunteer help. We understand how hectic life can get. However, if you are able to help out in any way for any event, it will be greatly appreciated. Almost every flyer that comes home with fundraising information has a contact person. Your help and support are important to the success of all our events! LET’S HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
