Let your child know that homework is important and valuable.

 Set a regular time each day for homework, allowing some time to unwind after school before starting.

 Be sure that your child has a quiet and comfortable space for homework with few distractions. Essentials, such as books, papers, notebooks and pencils, should be easily available.

 Support the classroom homework organization plan, be it folders or an agenda book.

 Spot check homework, but do not correct assignments unless the teacher ahs asked you to.

 Read any comments the teacher has made on returned assignments and tests.
